Supporters of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress clashed with each other. Candidates for the post of Sarpanch were going to file nomination papers for the election in Zira, Ferozepur. During this, a dispute broke out between the supporters of AAP MLA Naresh Kataria and former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira. The dispute escalated so much that stone pelting started from both sides. Meanwhile, bullets were also fired. 5 people including former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira have been injured in this incident.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon. There was a clash between the supporters of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Kataria and former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira over filing nomination papers for Sarpanch elections outside the government school in Zira. Soon there was stone pelting. The dispute escalated so much that 20 rounds of firing also took place at the spot. After the incident, a tense atmosphere prevails in Zira. Five people including Congress MLA Kulbir Singh have been injured, who have been admitted to the local government hospital.

During this incident, there was also a stampede. Seeing the situation deteriorating, the police had to open fire. The police fired in the air. After this, the police somehow calmed the situation.

Congress leader Kulbir Singh Jeera alleged that he had informed SSP Ferozepur that the candidates of Aam Aadmi Party could be attacked in Jeera. Despite this, no concrete arrangements were made by the administration. Jeera said that the police was told that AAP workers are arriving with tractor-trolleys full of stones. They will spoil the atmosphere of Jeera. Still, the police administration and SHO did not take any action.

Jeera said that on the instructions of Kataria, his supporters have pelted stones on the Congressmen. Not only this, bullets were also fired. Their candidates were not allowed to fill the nomination papers. Such a shock has never happened in the rule of Congress. There is a tense atmosphere in Jeera due to stone pelting and firing. The accused have climbed on the roofs of houses with stones. After this incident, the Congressmen took out a protest march in the entire area and raised slogans against the Punjab government and the police.

On the other hand, Fazilka SP (H) Ramnish Chaudhary, who is on special duty in Zira, said that there was a clash between the supporters of Kataria and Kulbir Zira. The police reached on time and calmed the situation. If anyone is injured in this incident, action will be taken on receiving a complaint.
