After Operation Sindoor, on Thursday night, Pakistan carried out drone attacks in many cities of Punjab. However, India gave a befitting reply to this. Late in the evening, there was news of a missile bomb-like weapon falling in the forest area of Ardh Neem Pahadi town Kamahi Devi.
Giving information in this regard, retired Captain Balwinder Singh, Sarpanch of village Wah Atta, said that at around 7.30 in the evening, the owner of the land saw a missile-like weapon falling in the fields away from his house. The owner of the land informed the Sarpanch of the village about this. The Panchayat immediately informed the Talwara police station about this. According to eyewitnesses, this missile-like object is about eight feet long. By the time the news was written, Talwara police under the leadership of police station chief Satpal Singh had reached the spot and started investigation. Amidst the tension, the Punjab government has decided to close all government, private and aided schools, colleges, universities for the next three days. The administration has resumed internet service in Faridkot after 13 hours.
Orders to officers not to leave headquarters in Chandigarh
The Personnel Department of Chandigarh Administration has issued an urgent order to all administrative secretaries and heads of departments, directing that all government employees should remain in their respective headquarters/stations (which are located in Chandigarh) until further orders are issued.
It has been clarified in the order that no employee will leave his headquarters. All previously approved leaves will also now be considered cancelled unless they get the approval of the concerned secretary and that too will be given only under special circumstances. This instruction has been sent to all concerned officials for strict compliance and it has been issued with the approval of the competent authority.
CTU stops bus service on Jammu route
CTU has stopped its bus going to Jammu-Katra. A CTU official said that buses used to run from Chandigarh to Jammu and Katra every morning and evening. The bus that had gone yesterday evening was sent back from Pathankot citing security reasons, after which no bus has been sent by CTU towards Jammu-Katra this morning.
Air defense system shot down two Pakistani drones in Amritsar
Pakistan attacked with a drone in Khasa area on Friday morning, which was shot down by the Indian Air Force’s air defense system. According to the information, drones were flown by Pakistan around 5:30 am on Friday. The air defense system operated immediately after this destroyed both the drones.
Jathedar Akal Takht appeals for peace at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib
In view of the current tense atmosphere, prayers for peace were offered on Friday at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Anandpur Sahib, the holy shrine of the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Leave of IAS officers cancelled in Punjab
In view of the tense situation between India and Pakistan, the Punjab government has cancelled the leave of all IAS officers. Orders have been issued by the government that no officer will take leave till further orders. No officer will go out of his posting place.
A suspect arrested from border village in Amritsar
Indian Army has arrested a suspect from Rampur village adjoining Attari. The name of this person is Rajiv Pal and he is said to be a resident of Meerut. The said person was constantly roaming in the villages around the border and was selling undergarments. On suspecting him, the army immediately caught him and handed him over to the police. Police say that the suspect is being interrogated and his mobile details are also being searched. At present the investigation is going on.
DC office will remain open on Saturday and Sunday in Chandigarh
Chandigarh UT administration has issued an important order informing that due to the current circumstances, DC office will now remain open on holidays also on 10 May (Saturday), 11 May (Sunday) and 12 May (Monday). In the order issued by the DC, it has been said that all the employees of the office should be present compulsorily on these three days. This order will be applicable to the employees of DC office and all sub-divisions.
Missile piece stuck in the middle of the road in Himachal Pradesh
The Army had shot down a missile fired by Pakistan near Attahada bridge on Indora Gangth road in Himachal Pradesh, about 35 km from Pathankot. The remains of that missile have been found stuck in the middle of the road. The police informed the Army about this. The Army has taken this remains in its possession.
