A case of rape of a minor girl in a sleeper bus has come to light, who had gone to Rajasthan from Jalandhar to visit relatives. The incident took place in Rajasthan, but since the victim was a resident of Jalandhar, Rajasthan Police has registered a zero FIR and sent the case to Jalandhar Police.
In the police complaint, it was told that the minor had gone to Rajasthan to meet her relatives in June. On July 7, she was returning from there to Jalandhar. On the way, Feru, a youth from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, was sitting with her in the sleeper bus. The victim told that during the journey, the bus stopped for a while at one place and the passengers got down. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the youth threatened her and raped her in the bus itself. After reaching Jalandhar, the girl gave full information about the incident to her family.
On the complaint, Rajasthan Police registered a zero FIR. Along with getting the girl medically examined, the police is also interrogating the bus operators that if the seat was booked, then in whose name was it done. Police officials said that they only know the name of the accused as told by the victim, and the CCTV cameras of the place where the bus was stopped are being scanned. The accused has not been identified yet.
