Raising his voice against the land pooling policy of the Punjab government, former Union Minister and former Chairman of the National Scheduled Caste Commission Vijay Sampla reached Jalandhar today. He made serious allegations against the state government regarding land acquisition and said that this policy is a direct attack on the interests of poor farmers.
Criticizing the policy, Sampla said that after its implementation, the poor farmer will neither be able to sell his land nor take a loan on it. In such a situation, his economic independence will end. He said that the job of the government is to give people their rights, not to snatch their rights from them. He demanded that the government should reconsider this scheme and protect the interests of the farmers.
Sampla further said – When our government built the airport in Adampur, when we took 40 acres of land. We talked to the farmers and gave them double the money. After which the said airport was built and the farmers were given benefits. The Punjab government is going to acquire more than 40 thousand acres of land, in which there will be no progress work, but colonies will be cut.
Sampla said that this step of the government is a step towards destruction. Due to which farmers may have to suffer huge losses. In such a situation, our party stands with the farmer leaders. If we need, we will make a strategy on this with the central government. When the time comes, then we will work on that strategy as well and expose this policy of Aam Aadmi Party.
Former Union Minister Vijay Sampla said- Punjab BJP has already made its stand clear on the issue of water. If Punjab does not have water, then how can it give it to anyone. He said that if the representatives of the Punjab government are attending the meeting, then they should put forward the state’s point boldly and strongly.
