PUNJAB–Bullets fired late at night—– 2 people seriously injured, 2 families have a dispute with abroad

Late night bullets were fired in village Baler Khanpur. 2 people have been seriously injured in this incident. On receiving the information, the Sadar police station and DSP sub-division team reached the spot and started investigating the incident.

DSP Deep Karan Singh said that one person has been shot in the chest and the other in the stomach. At present, a case has been registered against a youth. Both the injured are being treated in a private hospital in Jalandhar. The condition of both is said to be critical.

According to the information, 10-12 people came to the house of the former female sarpanch late at night in village Baler Khanpur located on Kala Sanghia Road. As soon as they arrived, they started beating the youth present in the house. Then the youth fired in the air from his licensed revolver to protect himself. When the attackers did not stop beating, the youth opened fire on the people who were beating. On the other hand, the villagers also gathered on hearing the sound of firing. Police have seized a vehicle from the spot.

If police sources are to be believed, the matter is related to the marriage of children of both the families abroad. It is being told that a boy and a girl from the same village got married abroad. Due to this, the girl’s side came to the house of the former woman Sarpanch and beat up the young man and the young man present in the house fired in self-defense.

On the complaint of the victim Tarsem Singh son Mahinder Singh resident of village Baler Khanpur, the police of Thana Sadar has registered a case against the accused Navdeep Singh alias Deepa son Kulwinder Singh under various sections of the Arms Act and started investigating the matter.
