Police have seized property worth more than one crore of a drug smuggler in Boota village in Bhulath, Kapurthala, which is infamous for drug abuse. DSP Bhulath Surinder Pal, who reached the spot, said that a notice has been put up on the smuggler’s property built from the earnings of drugs. It is written in it to make people aware that no one can buy or sell this property now.
DSP Surinder Pal said that on the instructions of higher officials, action has been taken to seize the property of smugglers in order to end drug trafficking. He also said that various cases are registered against drug smuggler Gujral Singh alias Joga resident Boot of village Boota in police station Subhanpur. Under his property, the value of the shop is Rs 9.24 thousand, the value of the house is Rs 91,58,000 and the value of vehicles is Rs 13,20,000. The value of smuggler Gujral’s property is Rs 1.14 lakh. He also informed that cases are registered against the said smuggler in many districts and he is currently lodged in Kapurthala Modern Jail.
On the orders of the Punjab Government and the officials of the competent authority, a notice has been pasted outside the house of this drug smuggler by a flex sheet. In this sequence, a letter has also been written to the competent authority to confiscate the property made from the earnings of drug smuggling. This property can neither be sold nor bought. He also informed that drug smugglers will not be spared at any cost.
