Phagwara Police has arrested three accused of robbery at gunpoint along with pistol and axe and recovered the looted goods from their possession. SP Phagwara Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said that on 22nd December, in Raja Garden Colony, when a woman Harjeet Kaur, wife of Harendra Singh was sunbathing outside her house with her neighbour, some boys riding on a motorcycle showed axe to them and snatched their gold chain and fled.
SP Bhatti said that to solve this robbery case, police teams were formed under the leadership of DSP Bharat Bhushan, including SHO of Satnampura Police Station Hardeep Singh, CIA Incharge Bismin Singh, who solved this robbery case and arrested the accused from Alachore of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Nawanshahr. The accused have been identified as Madhur Maggu alias Nannu, Gurpreet Singh alias Gaurav, both residents of Alachour, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Aftab alias Saurabh, resident of Mohalla Lal Palace, Phagwara.
The SP said that one Splendor motorcycle, one chisel, one pistol 32 bore, two toy pistols, one Khanda, one gold chain looted from Phagwara and gold earrings purchased from the looted money have been recovered from the possession of the accused. SP Bhatti said that the arrested accused have disclosed that they have committed crimes in District Hoshiarpur and District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar earlier also and cases of robbery and NDPS are registered against them in various police stations.
The SP said that various cases are registered against the accused in Police Station City Nawanshahr, Police Station RPF Phagwara, Division Number 7 Jalandhar, Police Station Rama Mandi Jalandhar, Police Station Cantt Jalandhar and Police Station Division Number 5 Jalandhar and they had come out of jail on bail a few days before committing the crime in Phagwara.
