A youth was stabbed to death in Zirakpur late Thursday night in a dispute over drug supply and drug money. A youth is seriously injured in this attack. The deceased has been identified as Dilawar (35), a resident of Dhakoli, while the injured Subhash (25) is a resident of Karnal in Haryana. The police have registered a case and started raids to arrest the accused. The police have kept the body in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital in Dera Bassi. The injured is being treated in Chandigarh.
Police sources said that the incident took place near Big Bazaar in Zirakpur at around 2.30 am. About six youths riding on different bikes carried out this incident. The police is checking the CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene. At present, on the basis of the complaint of the deceased’s brother, a case has been registered under sections 103, 109, 115(2) 126(2), 3(5) of the BNS and their search has been started.
It is being told that the drug smugglers had hired Dilawar and Shubham to supply drugs. While selling drugs, both the suppliers themselves also became addicts. Whatever drugs were given by the smugglers for sale, the intoxication in them would decrease and the income from selling drugs also started decreasing. On Thursday night, the dispute escalated over this matter and the attackers stabbed him several times on the heart with a knife. Due to this, Dilawar died on the spot. At the same time, Subhash was seriously injured. He has been operated in a government hospital in Chandigarh.
Dilavar had gone with friends at 8 o’clock
Dilavar’s sister told that he had gone out with his two friends at around 8 o’clock in the night, but did not return till late night. After this, someone informed about the incident at night. Sister told that Dilawar remained on the spot in injured condition for a long time. No one saw him. If he was taken to the hospital on time, his life could have been saved. According to sister, Dilawar used to drive a taxi. We did not know when he got trapped in the quagmire of drugs. His post-mortem was done on Friday late evening.
Information about the incident was received at 2:40 in the night, after which Dilawar and Shubham were taken to Dhakoli hospital. Here doctors declared Dilawar dead and due to Shubham’s critical condition, he was referred to Chandigarh. Many times requested to arrest the son
Deceased Dilawar’s father Jaswant Singh alleged that he had told Dhakoli police many times that his son was trapped in the quagmire of drugs. According to him, many times requests were made to the police to arrest Dilawar and send him to de-addiction center. In this regard, he also gave written complaints to the police several times, but the police never took any action. Dilawar’s father Jaswant Singh said that he has worked in the BSF. He said that he kept serving the country on the border and the police could not perform its duty. Dilawar was married and he also has a seven-year-old daughter.
