During security check at Pathankot Cantt railway station, a suspicious unclaimed bag was found in the general compartment of Malwa Express. When the team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) checked the bag, five pistols and ten magazines were recovered from it.
In view of the seriousness of the matter, GRP police has registered a case against an unknown person under the Arms Act and started investigation. Security agencies have also started investigation to get to the bottom of the matter, so that it can be ascertained where these weapons came from and where they were being taken.
After the news of suspicious bag being found at the railway station, security arrangements have been tightened further. GRP and RPF officials say that a detailed investigation of the entire matter is being done and the culprits will be caught soon.
