PATIALA..Spikes and swords used in Samana Civil Hospital: Doctors and staff scared

Splinter and swords were used in the emergency ward of the government civil hospital of Samana, Patiala, late on Saturday night during a fight between two parties. During this, eight people from both the parties were injured, who were immediately admitted to the government Rajindra Hospital of Patiala.

Statements of the injured have been recorded in the hospital by the City Samana Police. Police station in-charge Inspector Shivdeep Singh Barar said that further action will be taken in the case on the basis of statements.

In fact, due to some old rivalry, a fight broke out between two parties in Fatehpur village of Samana. During this, a youth Amritpal Singh was injured, whom his family members brought to the emergency ward of Samana Civil Hospital at around 1:15 am late night for treatment and MLT. While the treatment was still going on, people from the other side reached there with knives and daggers and attacked Amritpal Singh and his family members.

There was a fierce fight between the two sides. Even the hospital equipment was used by both the sides to attack each other during the fight. In this bloody fight, the glass of the emergency window, beds and other equipment were broken. Seeing this scene, there was a lot of fear among the doctors and other staff deployed on emergency duty at night. Somehow the police was informed about the matter. By the time the police arrived, the accused had fled from the spot. Eight people from both the sides were injured in this fight. The injured include Amritpal Singh, his father Balraj Singh, brother Vikramjit Singh and another relative Surinder Singh. On the other hand, Varinder Singh, Jarnail Singh, Kali, Rajinder Singh are included from the other side.

Demand for providing security at night

The doctors on duty in the emergency at the time of the incident have demanded from the police and the government to provide security in civil hospitals, especially at night. The doctors said that such incidents have happened in the civil hospital of Samana before as well. In the incident that took place on Sunday night, the doctors and other staff were saved, but taking lessons from this incident, security arrangements should be made for the future. On the other hand, when Civil Surgeon Dr. Sanjay Goyal was talked to, he said that he does not know anything about the incident that took place in the civil hospital of Samana.
