Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia alleged that dreaded gangsters are being used to create consensus in support of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in the Panchayat elections. Therefore, the Panchayats in which consensus has been achieved should be investigated under the supervision of the High Court. Bikram Majithia was addressing journalists in Amritsar on Monday.
Baljinder Singh, brother of former Sarpanch Dalbir Singh Dhillon, was also present with Majithia in this press conference. Baljinder Singh said that gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria is giving threats to influence the Panchayat elections. Baljinder revealed how his candidate was threatened. Bhagwanpuria’s candidate also stopped his car to fire in the air and scare him.
Baljinder Singh said that when he complained to the police in this regard, the police also did not take any action. Later, a man came to his house and made him talk to Bhagwanpuria over the phone. He told Baljinder Singh that if he continued to come in the way, he would meet the same fate as his brother.
