An elderly man died after being allegedly slapped by his friend’s son in Ludhiana’s Basant Avenue on Monday. The elderly man was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. The deceased has been identified as Sahdev Sahu alias Bengali (60), a resident of Basant Avenue, who was a security guard.
SHO Inspector Harshvir Singh of Sadar police station said that the police received information about the incident from Ludhiana’s Civil Hospital on Monday afternoon.
Both the clashers were security guards
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim and his friend Prem Pal both work as security guards. On Monday afternoon, the two had an argument over something, following which the victim slapped Prem Pal. Although Prem Pal did not retaliate against the victim, he went home and told his son about it.
Son avenged father
After this, Prem Pal’s son went to Sahdev Sahu and slapped him to avenge his father. After being slapped, the old man fell unconscious and was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The inspector said that the police will take further action after recording the statements of the deceased’s family members.
