A heart wrenching road accident took place in Ludhiana on Saturday night. One Punjab Police employee died in the accident. Another employee was seriously injured.
Actually, two employees of the Police Control Room (PCR) unit were eating ice cream at a roadside vendor at night. Then a speeding car coming from the front hit them. The accused car driver is also an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in Punjab Police. After the incident, the police arrested the accused ASI Balwinder Singh.
According to the information, the accused ASI Balwinder Singh was drunk. The speed of his car was very high. Due to being drunk, he lost control of the car and hit both the employees of the PCR unit who were eating ice cream on the roadside with his speeding car. He dragged them with the car for about 15 meters. In this accident, one police personnel died on the spot, while the other employee’s leg was fractured.
The deceased employee has been identified as Akashdeep. A tyre of the vehicle passed over Akashdeep’s head, due to which he died on the spot. The condition of the injured colleague ASI Satnam Singh is critical. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. At the same time, the police team arrested the accused police employee Balwinder Singh in the night itself.
