Kapurthala News–Beas-Sutlej on the rise….Flood water entered around 15 villages of Bhulath, 450 people stranded

Beas and Sutlej are in spate due to release of water from Bhakra dam. The flood water has entered about 15 villages of Bhulatha. Where about 450 people are trapped. However, two teams of civil and army of the district administration have taken more than 250 people to a safe place. DC Captain Karnail Singh has directed the officers to be vigilant.


Increased danger in these villages


Flood in several villages including Mand Kukan, Mand Ibrahimwal, Raipur Araiyan, Chakkoki, Butala, Dhilwan, Mirzapur, Daudpur, Mand Habibwala, Ghagg Daulatpur, Mand Sardar Singh Wala, Nangal Lubana along with Dhussi Dam in Dhilwan area of sub-division Bhulth water has entered. People are taking their animals from the middle of the water to safer places.


Army arrived to help


Police and Indian Army teams are constantly evacuating people to safer places from Mand area of village Talwandi Kuka. Over 450 people are trapped in Mand area. Of these, more than 250 people have been shifted to a safe place by the teams of the district administration with the help of teams of the 88 Armed Regiment of the Indian Army and the Punjab Police. In Talwandi Kuka, the Indian Army and the Punjab Police are busy evacuating people in six boats.
