NDA’s Modi Government 3.0 has been formed at the Center. BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu from Ludhiana has got the post of Union Minister of State in the Modi government. Despite the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP high command has expressed confidence in Ravneet Singh Bittu, it is clear that Punjab is very important for the BJP. Bittu is the only leader from Punjab who has got a place in the Modi cabinet. He is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

Bittu has been a Congress MP thrice. For the first time in 2009, he became an MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib. After this, in the year 2014 and 2019, he was a Congress MP from Ludhiana parliamentary seat, but he did not get a ministerial post even once. Before the Lok Sabha elections held this year, he left the Congress and joined the BJP and contested from Ludhiana, but he lost to Congress state president Amarinder Singh Raja Vading by more than twenty thousand votes.
BJP did not get a single seat in Punjab and BJP candidates lost on all 13 seats, then it seemed that this time Punjab will not get representation at the center, but the BJP high command has taken full care of the border state of Punjab by making Bittu a minister. Also, keeping in mind the 2027 assembly elections, BJP has bet on a Jat Sikh face. He has been speaking out against the Khalistani ideology in Punjab.
Manish Tewari has also been a minister from Ludhiana seat
Congress leader and Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari was an MP from Ludhiana parliamentary seat from 2009 to 2014 and was the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister from 2012 to 2014 during the tenure of PM Manmohan Singh. He was the only one to get a place in the Union Cabinet before Bittu.
Amit Shah fulfilled the promise
Home Minister Amit Shah, who came to campaign in Ludhiana during the Lok Sabha elections, had announced from the stage that people of Ludhiana, send Ravneet Bittu to victory, I will make him a big man. Although Bittu could not win the election from Ludhiana, now Amit Shah has fulfilled his promise by giving him a place in the Union Cabinet.
Modi government has prepared the road map of Punjab: Bittu
Ravneet Singh Bittu says that the Modi government has honoured the whole of Punjab by giving him a place in the cabinet. He is fully prepared to take the responsibility of taking Punjab on the path of progress. PM Modi and Amit Shah have prepared the entire road map for the development of the state. Now the state has to be taken forward by working on it. He will act as a bridge to get the problems of the farmers, labourers, poor, industry and business world solved from the Centre. Bittu said that his target is the assembly elections of the year 2027.
Two MPs and one Union Minister from Ludhiana
The economic capital of Punjab is special in many ways. On one hand, it is the stronghold of the bicycle, hosiery and textile industry here, while it has also become very important politically. Now Ludhiana has two MPs and one Union Minister. In Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora of Aam Aadmi Party is handling his responsibility as a Rajya Sabha member. Apart from this, state Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is an MP from Ludhiana parliamentary seat. Now BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu has become a minister in the central government.
Bittu will have to go to Rajya Sabha from another state’s seat
Bittu will have to become a member of Rajya Sabha to reach Parliament. 92 out of 117 MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party won in Punjab Assembly. BJP does not have any Rajya Sabha seat in Punjab. In such a situation, Bittu will have to reach Rajya Sabha from a seat in another state in the next six months. For this, the BJP high command has already made a strategy.
Responsibility to the fourth leader who lost from Punjab
Arun Jaitley lost the election from Punjab but he was made a minister at the center in 2014. Ambika Soni lost the election but she was sent to Rajya Sabha and made a minister. Whereas Hardeep Puri lost the election, he was made a minister. Now Bittu has also lost the election and he will be sent to Rajya Sabha within six months and made a member so that the ministerial post can be retained.
