Rajasthan government has also been made a party in the case of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s interview in jail. Advocate Tanu Bedi, who is assisting the High Court in this case, today filed an application to make Rajasthan government a party in this case.
The SIT report revealed that an interview of gangster Bishnoi was held in Rajasthan. The High Court has now issued a notice to the Rajasthan government in the case. On September 3, the Advocate General of Rajasthan has been ordered to join the hearing through VC.
At the same time, orders have been given to the Punjab government to take action in the case of the first interview held at the CIA Complex in Kharar, Punjab. The High Court said that the senior officials guilty of this should be identified and disciplinary action should be taken. The SIT formed for the interview of Lawrence Bishnoi in police custody has revealed that his first interview was held at the CIA (Crime Investigation Agency)’s Kharar police station (Mohali). This interview, recorded in September 2022, was released seven months later in March 2023. The second interview was held in a Rajasthan jail. The SIT report has exposed the Punjab government’s claim that the interview did not take place within the limits of Punjab.
The High Court had handed over the investigation of this case to the SIT (Special Investigation Team) headed by Special DGP Human Rights Prabodh Kumar. The sealed report was presented in the High Court on Wednesday by the SIT. The SIT has stated in its report that the first interview was held at the CIA’s Kharar police station. The special thing is that this interview, recorded in September 2022, was released 7 months later in March 2023.
