The fear of gangsters has taken such a deep root among the businessmen of Punjab that the promotion pages for business promotion are being deleted on social media platforms. Not only this, to revive the tradition of doing business in a traditional way, they have started considering it better to return to the old ways.

The situation has become such that many businessmen have started avoiding even getting their shops photographed. This has happened after the incident of firing for extortion at the high profile MIC mobile showroom at the behest of gangsters came to light. However, small businessmen are not included in this. Only the rich-ultra rich businessmen coming in the creamy layer have completely distanced themselves from all the social media handles.

This is the first time that an incident of firing on a showroom in broad daylight has taken place in Kapurthala, the smallest city of Punjab. After this incident, instead of becoming popular through their FB-Insta, bullion traders, textile traders and big industrialists have now distanced themselves from social media platforms. Even the pages made for putting up promotional videos and posts related to their business have been blown up.

A bullion trader said that now he has again returned to doing business in the old traditional way. Social media has become a headache for him. They had started increasing profits by taking the help of social media due to the increasing trend of online shopping, because their business has suffered a setback due to the increasing online business, but little did they know that their videos have become a means of recce for people with criminal image. Due to which their and their family’s life can be in danger. Therefore, they have deleted all the social media pages of the business organization.

Due to the fear of miscreants, businessmen are not only keeping distance from social media, but many big businessmen have also decided to change their residence from a small city like Kapurthala to a big city. Of course, they will do business in Kapurthala, but they will keep their residence in a big city. They have taken this step in view of the safety of their family. Their argument is that in a small town, a big luxury item catches people’s attention very quickly. Whereas this is common in big cities.

A police officer has said that crime is natural, it is not right to make it a synonym for fear. Businessmen should do business openly. The police is fully prepared and committed to their security.
