The Mohali District Court has once again issued warrants for the arrest of Mohali RTO Pradeep Kumar Dhillon, who has been named in the driving license scam in Punjab. These warrants have been issued till May 13. Earlier, the warrants were till May 1.
At the same time, Pradeep Kumar has been absconding since being named in the case. The petition filed by him for anticipatory bail in the Mohali District Court has been rejected. In such a situation, it is believed that now he will take refuge in the High Court.
Three officers including the Vigilance Chief were suspended
The Punjab government is also serious about this matter. After not taking immediate action against the accused, the government suspended three officers including Vigilance Bureau Chief SPS Parmar on April 24. These officers include AIG Swarndeep Singh and Jalandhar Vigilance Bureau Range SSP Harpreet Singh. At the same time, the command of the Vigilance Bureau has now been handed over to ADGP Praveen Kumar.
On April 7, raids were conducted on Regional Transport Authority (RTA) offices and driving test centers. During this, 24 persons involved in bribery and other irregularities were arrested. During this, a total of 16 FIRs were registered and the officers recovered 40 thousand 900 rupees in cash from the agents.
The government has claimed that this amount was collected in lieu of getting driving license, test and other services. After this, the Vigilance Bureau named them in FIR number 8. This FIR is registered under 7A, PC Act 61 2 BNS Act. During this, an agent was caught in Mohali. After that the case proceeded further.
