Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan PK Shaw has returned to his country. Pakistan had taken BSF Jawan PK Shaw in its custody the very next day of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He has not been released yet. BSF Constable PK Shaw remained in Pakistan’s custody for 21 days.
To take revenge for the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India had launched Operation Sindoor on 7 May and had entered Pakistan and carried out air strikes on terrorist hideouts. Pakistan Rangers had taken BSF Jawan PK Shaw in custody on 23 April, the day after the terrorist attack on 22 April, at the Ferozepur border. For the last 20 days, BSF officials have held flag meetings with Pak Rangers several times to get PK Shaw released, but he has not been released. The soldier was released on the 21st day after the tension between the two countries subsided.
PK Shaw is originally from Rishra in West Bengal. A few days ago, the soldier’s wife Rajni Shaw came to Chandigarh regarding her husband’s release. Rajni had met BSF officials regarding her husband’s return.
According to official sources, the soldier was in uniform at the time of the incident. He had a service rifle. PK, a resident of Harisabha area of Rishra in Hooghly, was reportedly with a group of farmers near the border when he proceeded to rest under a tree and inadvertently went into Pakistan territory, where he was captured.
