Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met Union Minister Prahlad Joshi in Delhi today. In the meeting held on this occasion, a strategy was made on the issue of paddy lifting and RDF. The CM said that the meeting took place in a very good atmosphere and consensus was reached on many things. He will hold another meeting soon.
At the same time, when he was asked that while Golden Temple received threats through email, you have also received threats. To this, his answer was that some mischievous elements would not tolerate the person who works in the interest of the country, who works for Punjab. We are not going to be afraid of such jackal threats.
The CM said that a demand was made in the meeting that our warehouses should be emptied immediately. If 10 to 12 lakh metric tonnes of grain is lifted every month, then there will be space in the warehouses. The Union Minister has agreed to this.
The CM said that the rent of godowns in Punjab is less. But FCI allows us to store less grains in its godowns. At the same time, 46 lakh metric tonnes of godowns are to be built. Land is expensive in Punjab. Therefore, it has been demanded that Punjab should not be compared with other states. The commission of the commission agents has not increased for a long time. The central government has also agreed to this increase.
This time we have advanced the paddy planting season by 15 days. This time it has been demanded that the government procurement should start from 15 September. So that the farmers can sell their crops and go back home comfortably. All four demands are correct. He has assured that the next meeting will be held soon.
The issue of RDF money has also been raised in the meeting. That too is money related to the mandis. It has been asked to hold a separate meeting for that. Some consensus has been reached for that. When Captain Amarinder Singh was the Chief Minister, he misused it. Due to this there was a problem. It is expected that the next meeting will be held in 10 to 12 days. The paddy season was brought earlier so that there is no moisture.
