Continuous rainfall is causing significant damage across Punjab. One such incident occurred in Pawan Nagar, a district within the Punjab’s Amritsar district. The roof of Shri Balaji Jewellers collapsed late last night due to heavy rain. It’s a matter of relief that no one was injured. The jeweler (goldsmith) described the entire incident as a deliberate conspiracy by the shop owner and leveled serious allegations against him. The owner dismissed all allegations as baseless and accused him of falsely implicating him.
A copy of the complaint has reached the District Police Commissioner. An investigation order has been issued to the relevant police station. A police officer confirmed this. The jeweler has alleged that his life is in danger from his employer and that the shop owner will be responsible for any harm to his property.

15 years ago (in 2013), a goldsmith named Sanjeev Kumar rented a shop from Mangat Ram. The shop is located in Pawan Nagar Market. The shop was named Shri Balaji Jewelers. Initially, everything went well. Seven years ago, Mangat Ram passed away. Subsequently, Shri Balaji Jewelers was approached by his son, Rajinder Kumar Raju, citing the building’s dilapidated condition and the need to vacate the shop immediately. However, the jewelers, who were dependent on the shop for their livelihood, refused to vacate. The case subsequently went to court. Since then, the case is reportedly pending.
The goldsmith alleged that he was subsequently harassed by Rajinder Kumar. He alleged that he was even threatened with death. He alleged that he was subjected to repeated threats, ranging from snatching his belongings to demolishing the roof. It was alleged that the owner deliberately dumped debris on the roof to prevent it from collapsing, which resulted in the collapse late at night. The shop was closed because the accident occurred late at night. While his life was saved, he has suffered significant financial losses, which will take a long time to recover.
Pleaded with the police administration for help
Complainant Sanjeev Kumar appealed to the police administration for help, stating that he should receive legal justice. He is a simple, small businessman with no quarrel with anyone. However, he is harassed daily by his owner to the point where he cannot spend a single day in peace. He is mentally disturbed. Business is suffering greatly. Sometimes, while dealing with customers, he is haunted by the constant fear that the owner might harm him in some way. If his life is harmed, the shop owner, Rajendra, will be held responsible.

He alleged that the owner, Rajendra Kumar, alias Raju, is responsible for this and demanded that strict legal action be taken against him so that they never have to face such a situation again.
