According to the Meteorological Department, the average maximum temperature in the state increased by 0.4 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. However, it remained around normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 38.3 degrees Celsius in Bathinda. The maximum temperature in Patiala was 34.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Amritsar at 34.7 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana at 34.8 degrees Celsius, Faridkot at 36.0 degrees Celsius, and Sangrur at 33.7 degrees Celsius.

Night temperatures also above normal

Night temperatures in Punjab were recorded 3.9 degrees Celsius above normal. This means that the day remained warm at night as well. The average minimum temperature in the state increased by 0.2 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day.
