Mehta Police Station has registered a case against a dozen people, including two named ones, under various criminal sections for the attack on Lucky Dhaba owner Malkit Singh alias Vicky and his workers a few days ago. No arrests have been made yet. Station in-charge Inspector Simran Kaur confirmed this. She claimed to arrest all the alleged perpetrators soon.

The incident is reported to have taken place late in the evening of July 29th. Dhaba owner Malkit Singh was working when a dozen attackers attacked him with sharp weapons. He was stabbed in the arm and several parts of his body. The attackers fled the scene after committing the crime. Malkit, covered in blood, was taken to the government hospital in Baba Bakala. He received stitches on several parts of his body.
How the fight happened
According to Malkit, some young men were drinking alcohol in his courtyard. It was around 2-3 p.m. He came out to pay the bill. One of them secretly started filming him. When he (Malkit) objected, they refused to do so. When his mobile phone was checked, the video was discovered. When he warned them not to do so in the future, they abused him and fled. Intending to take revenge, around a dozen attackers stormed his courtyard in the evening, armed with sharp weapons.
A mob apprehended two attackers
According to Malkit, he and the gathered crowd apprehended two attackers with sharp weapons. When questioned, they identified themselves as Malkit and Nishan Singh. Police were informed at the scene. The police took both of them into custody. Sources indicate that the attackers have previously committed several criminal acts, but no police officer has officially confirmed this. Currently, shopkeepers in the vicinity are deeply angry about this incident, and they are urging the police to take strict action against the perpetrators.
Second Major Incident in a Month
It has been learned that this is the second major incident in the area under the jurisdiction of Mehta Police Station in a month. Previously, a bloody clash broke out between two groups at a local fair, leaving several people injured. The police had faced considerable criticism in that case. Police were accused of arriving too late after the incident. This latest incident has raised numerous questions about local law and order and the police station. People are now worried that a similar attack could happen at any time, as the attackers have no fear of the law.
Police accused of compromising
It is alleged that the Mehta police station wanted to mediate a settlement between the two parties in this case. However, the complainant had been severely traumatized, so he clearly told the police that he had full faith in the law and that appropriate legal action should be taken against the perpetrators. In such a situation, the only recourse available to the police was to file an FIR. Therefore, the police must now arrest the alleged perpetrators as quickly as possible and put them behind bars to send a positive message to the public. Now it remains to be seen whether the police will be able to do so or will shelve the matter.
