An 18-year-old youth was brutally murdered, while his companion was seriously injured, following a dispute over a monetary transaction on the road from Sirhind town to Dera Mir Meera in Fatehgarh Sahib. The deceased has been identified as Ankush, a resident of Sirhind, and a second-year BA student at the university.
The incident involved a monetary transaction.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the forensic team and police arrived at the scene and began investigating. Ashok Kumar, station house officer of Fatehgarh Sahib police station, stated that a minor dispute regarding a monetary transaction had occurred between the two parties at around 4 p.m. on Friday. The dispute escalated again late at night, leading to a physical altercation. Ankush died from serious injuries, while his companion was seriously injured.
Police registered a case and detained four suspects.
Based on the statements of the deceased’s cousin, Ranjodh Singh, the police registered a case and detained four suspects. They are being questioned and the arrest process is underway.
When family members arrived at the hospital, they learned that Ankush had died.
On the other hand, the deceased’s mother, Radha, stated that Ankush had left home around 3 p.m. to buy yogurt. Around 5 p.m., he returned to his father to borrow 50 rupees to fill his motorcycle with fuel. Afterward, his father told him to go home. Around 8:30 p.m., the family received a call informing them that Ankush had been injured and had been taken to Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib.
