A dispute broke out over video recording at the government-run Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. A CRPF jawan posted in Bihar accused DSP Sanjeev Singla of slapping him, removing his turban, and snatching his mobile phone. In protest, the jawan, along with his wife, staged a sit-in protest at the hospital’s main gate.
Police Deny Allegations
The police, while denying the allegations, cited the jawan’s complaint to the doctors. According to reports, the jawan had been admitted to Ward No. 18 of the hospital for the past five days. His wife, Charanjit Kaur, stated that her husband had made the video after seeing material related to alleged drug use, including envelopes, syringes, and a lighter, on the hospital premises.
DSP Accused of Slapping a CRPF Jawan
According to the wife’s allegation, they were sitting outside after being discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, DSP Sanjeev Singla, who arrived in plain clothes, slapped the jawan and removed his turban. A policeman has also been accused of snatching a mobile phone. Karnail Singh, in-charge of the Rajindra Hospital police post, denied the allegations of assault and mobile phone snatching. He said that the hospital doctors had complained about the policeman’s behavior. Currently, both sides have different claims.
