Justice Sheel Nagu Recusals from Corruption Case Involving Punjab CMO
Supreme Court Justice Sheel Nagu has recused himself from hearing the alleged corruption case involving the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office. The Punjab government had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the CBI investigation.

No Relief for Rajbir Ghuman
Rajbir Singh Ghuman, an officer on special duty in the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office, has not received any relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Ghuman had challenged the FIR registered by the CBI and the search conducted at his ancestral residence. Justice J.S. Bedi stated that the case was not fit for hearing before his bench, as the FIR in question was filed on the orders of a division bench of the High Court. The court advised the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum.


Contempt Charges Face Punjab Chief Secretary in DA Arrears Payment Case
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken a tough stand in a case involving pending DA payments to Punjab government employees and pensioners. The court has directed the matter to be referred to the relevant bench as per the roster, citing alleged disregard of High Court orders and prima facie criminal contempt against the Punjab Chief Secretary.

Car Robbed at Gunpoint in Chandigarh, Incident in Front of Police Beat Box
The emboldened criminals in Chandigarh are so emboldened that a car robbery at gunpoint took place right in front of a police beat box. Around 11:30 pm on Thursday night in Sector 46, two armed men stopped a man, stole his Swift car, and fled the scene. The incident occurred on a main road, just a short distance from the police beat box. Based on the victim’s complaint, the Sector 34 police station has registered a case against unknown suspects and initiated an investigation.

Gaurav Yadav has been appointed as the regular DGP of Punjab. The Punjab government has issued a notification in this regard. The UPSC had sent a panel of three names to the government for regular posting as DGP, from which the government has approved Yadav’s name.
