Taxi driver murdered and body thrown in canal, ACCUSED arrested after blood stains investigation

News of conflict between taxi drivers of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh has been going on social media for the past several days. Taxi drivers of both states accuse each other. However, many videos are also going viral in which people are talking about mutual brotherhood. Meanwhile, a taxi driver from Himachal was murdered in Kiratpur, Punjab and his body was thrown in the canal. Himachal Police has arrested two accused. On Sunday, Himachal Police recovered evidence related to the incident from the track of SYL canal adjacent to Kiratpur Sahib on the identification of the accused arrested from Ludhiana.

DSP Madan Dhiman, who is investigating the case, said that taxi driver Hari Krishna, resident of Ram Shahar, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, was reported missing. When the case was investigated, it was found that he was murdered near Kiratpur and his body was thrown in the canal. During the investigation, two youths have been arrested from Ludhiana. The accused have confessed that they killed taxi driver Hari Krishna and threw his body in the canal. However, the driver’s body has not been found yet.

Taxi driver Hari Krishna’s son Deshraj told the police that his father Hari Krishna works in a tour and travel company near Victory Tunnel. On June 24, two people booked his taxi from Shimla to Manali. Hari Krishna left for Manali with the accused on June 24, from where he returned on June 25 and said that he would return home in the evening. Father Hari Krishna had last told him that he had reached Barmana and would come to the village after dropping the passengers, but after some time his father’s phone was switched off.

Son searched for his father himself

Desraj told that he himself checked the CCTV cameras installed at many petrol pumps in search of his father, in which he saw his father’s taxi. Some other person was driving his father’s taxi. A person was seen lying on the back seat. When the matter reached the police, it was found that the youths who had booked the taxi had committed the murder of Hari Krishna.


The taxi was found with the accused, it had blood stains on it.


After investigation, Jaskaranjot Singh and Gurmeet Singh, residents of village Gurm in Ludhiana, were arrested and the taxi was also recovered from their possession, which had blood stains on it. During interrogation, it was revealed that they had murdered Hari Krishna near Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh and thrown the body in the canal near Kiratpur Sahib. On the identification of the accused, clothes and other solid evidence kept in the taxi were recovered on Sunday.
