Jalandhar Commissionerate Police of Punjab has arrested three associates of Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Hareke. The accused used to oversee Landa’s extortion network, weapons coming from Pakistan, drugs and other crimes. Police have arrested all three accused from Jalandhar itself. Soon the police will produce all three in the court and take them on remand for interrogation.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that links of all three have been found with terrorist Lakhbir Landa hiding in Canada. All three accused were running a big network of organized crime and extortion. After investigating all the facts, Jalandhar Police had laid a trap.
The accused ordered consignment of weapons from Pakistan several times
After which all three accused were arrested one by one. DGP Yadav said that the arrested people were assigned the task of eliminating a member of the rival gang by foreign handlers. The accused had also ordered consignment of drugs and weapons from Pakistan several times.
Police registered a case under UAPA
According to the information received, a case has been registered under UAPA against the accused arrested by Jalandhar City Police. More than 35 cases of drug smuggling, arms smuggling, extortion and other heinous cases are already registered against the accused. DGP said- The accused are being questioned as to how the said accused used to talk to Landa and with which arms and drug smuggler in Pakistan they were in link.
