A big revelation has been made in the case of robbery of Rs 4 lakh by 3 bike riders from a person travelling in a car in Dhilwan area of Kapurthala last Saturday. Giving information about this, SPD Sarabjit Rai said that the victim is the mastermind in the robbery incident, he along with his friend planned to grab Rs 4 lakh and created a drama of robbery. The police has arrested his friend. And 3 lakh 85 thousand have also been recovered from the accused.
The police got suspicious due to repeated change of statement
Let us tell you that on January 25, a case of robbery of Rs 4 lakh by 3 bike riders from Raiya resident Gurmeet Singh son Mahinder Singh came to light in Dhilwan area. In which Dhilwan police had started investigation by registering an FIR against unknown robbers. However, the police were suspicious from the beginning due to the victim giving different statements repeatedly.
The friend had revealed the whole truth
SP D Sarabjit Rai said that after the FIR lodged in Dhilwan police station, when the police reached the victim’s friend Santokh Singh alias Kukku son of Manjit Singh, resident of Raiya, through the technical team and human intelligence, the whole incident was revealed. The victim Gurmeet Singh gave him Rs 4 lakh and sent him away. And then as part of a well-planned conspiracy, he made up a story and told it to the police.
This is how the police got suspicious
He also said that Gurmeet Singh first gave a statement that he had stopped at a street vendor to drink juice, then he kept the money in his jacket and the robbers took out the money from the jacket, then they were asked to break the glass and take out the money from the dashboard. However, when the police inquired at the place where he had said he had drunk juice, the victim could not tell at which juice vendor he drank the juice. And it was also said that all the statements were given in panic. Then he came back the next day on 26 January and recorded his written statement. On the basis of which the police registered an FIR.
3 lakh 85 thousand recovered
SPD Sarabjit Rai said that 3 lakh 85 thousand have also been recovered from the arrested Santokh Singh alias Kukku son of Manjit Singh, resident of Raiya. While raids are being conducted to arrest the mastermind Gurmeet Singh son of Mahinder Singh.

According to the FIR registered in Dhilwan police station, in the statement given by the victim, it was told that on Saturday he had gone to Jalandhar after leaving his niece Rajveer Kaur in his car for the paper at DIPS School Dhilwan. Where he had borrowed money from his nephew Amarjit Singh near JS Builder Pathankot Chowk. The nephew gave 8 bundles of 500-500 notes (four lakh rupees). The victim also told that he had borrowed money from his nephew and kept it with him. He kept it in his jacket and after sitting in the car, he took out the money from the jacket and kept it on the dashboard of the car. After this, when he came back to Dhilwan to pick up his niece Rajveer Kaur from DIPS School, when he reached near the water tank, 3 youths riding a bike from behind broke the glass of my car which was the same size as my car and took away the 4 lakh rupees lying on the dashboard and fled.
