A woman died and three people were seriously injured in a tragic road accident on Punjab’s Nawanshahr-Ropar main road on Thursday morning at 10:30. Kharar resident Dr. Rajiv Kumar Kundra was going from Jalandhar to Chandigarh in his car. An unknown vehicle cut his car in front of Rana Dhaba, due to which the car went out of control and collided with two motorcycles.

The first motorcycle rider Kamlesh Rani (55) of Gorakhpur died on the spot, while her son Kundan Lal was seriously injured. Mother and son were going to Kurali. The second motorcycle rider Gurmukh Singh of Majhoor and his relative Sukhwinder Kaur were also seriously injured. Gurmukh Singh’s right leg was fractured and Sukhwinder Kaur’s teeth were broken.
The team of ASI Satnam Singh of City Police Station Balachaur reached the spot and sent the body of Kamlesh Rani to the Government Hospital of Balachaur for postmortem. The injured have been referred after first aid. Police has taken all the three vehicles in its possession and started investigation.
